| Customer Reviews: If you can look past the glaring flaws, this is a really great game. January 6, 2009 Ben Clark (Goffstown, NH) First and foremost, don't get this game if your looking for a paintball simulator. I've played quite a bit of paintball in real life and can say I've never played in a match like the ones in this game.
That being said, Paint Brawl 4 is a really fun game... if you can look past a LONG list of flaws. First off, the first time I installed and played the game, the graphics engine was completely broken. The game would load and play and there were colors and sounds and everything, but you couldn't tell at all what was going on. I downloaded a patch and pretty much all the graphic glitches dissapeared.
2nd, the AI is very inconsistant. One moment you'll wonder at the genius other team who managed to completely out smart you. Next match you'll wonder why everyone on the same team you just played is running into a wall and ignoring you. Fortunatly, thats not very common.
3rd, this game is EASY. With the execption of a few of the more poorly designed maps you'll breeze through most of the maps on the hardest setting almost unchallenged. This can be fun like that, but only if you like massive hit counts. (oh, and the game does a STELLAR job with stat tracking).
Now on to the good part: Capture the flag. NEVER have I had more fun with a video games single player CTF mode. On some of the better maps you'll get locked into some really intense tug of war battles. Trying to ballence offence and defence is really entertaining and sometimes (when the ai isn't running into walls) you'll notice the other team making adjustments mid way through a match to adjust to your statagy.
In the end, despite all it's flaws, I still highly recommend this game to anyone who has 15 mins of free time and want's to have a little fun.
