Excellent creative book February 15, 2010 S. Figg This is really a great book for 4-8 year olds. It breaks down animals into simple shapes which helps a child learn to draw. After a few tries my daughter could draw the animals and also add new features without needing the book. Excellent book and great value for money.
drawing book November 29, 2009 W. Kastelic-Berger I purchased these as gifts for party goers. My daughter had a party at an art studio. Parents informed me the kids started drawing right away. Very cute book. Wendy K New Berlin, WI
Re: reading levels are just referrence marks October 12, 2009 D. Z. M. Carty (St. Louis, MO) As someone who's been buying books for myself and others all my life, let me just say that reading levels that are marked on most books for children are just averages. if you know that your child is an accelerated reader or is gifted, dont assume that the book that's slated for average 8 yr olds will be at "just the right level" for your gifted 8 yr old. and defnitely dont give the book a bad review, that really tarnishes the reputation for other customers.
wonderful for beginners September 12, 2009 M. Landis Great for beginning artists. My daughter loves drawing from this book. She uses it with the I can Draw People book from Usborne as a companion book. Highly recommend. Easy to use for beginners - step by step drawings for easy duplication.
reading level can not be 9 to 12 August 22, 2009 G. Ji 2 out of 6 found this review helpful
I saw the reviews are pretty good and the reading level is 9 to 12, so bought it for my 8 years old. And she found it way too simple.
The reading level should be 3 to 6.
