I purchased this product to replace my Norton internet security suite. it arrived a day late not Norton's fault in fact it was mine.
I have been a long time fan of Norton since windows 3.1. However my support is waning.
I am very upset, since when my subscription ran out it did not just refuse to update. The program came to a screeching halt. In the past, the only thing that happened When the subscription lapsed, was that it refused to update the av signatures. This time it turned off my firewall, and came to a complete stop leaving me open to malicious software and persons unknown.
This type of extortion by my own anti virus software leads me to consider switching to another program next time. I have not been a fan of any software that requires a yearly subscription to gain updates... and even less of one that ceases to work at all.
My recommendation is for you to try a different company.

It was exactly what I wanted!!!! It was an up-version of what I previously had and I wasn't totally sure about purchasing a security cd over the internet(sight unseen),but when I got it, I found out that it actually had more than I expected! Thank You!!!

Norton 360 did what it was supposed to do for the year it was active, but once the one year subscription expired, the program was totally disabled. While I planned to eventually renew the subscription, I had other competing priorities at the time. So, I was left to either go online with a non-functioning Norton or search for another cheaper alternative. I found AVG Free.
While I understand that new threats are created throughout each day, thus making a live subscription to definition updates necessary, I cannot understand what gives Norton the right to disable my software after the expiration of the one-year term. My expectation is that any updates would be unavailable without a current subscription, but I find their new practice of totally disablement to be absolutely unreasonable. For this reason, I will not ever purchase Norton again as long as there are other security products available. In my opinion, it was a bad business decision for Symantec to take this policy and I will choose not to play their game.
For those of you who are good about renewing your subscriptions, then you will not experience this issue. Just be aware that soon as the subscription expires, the application and the protection it provides is disabled completely,ie, no virus or spyware protection, no passwords, no access to your backups, etc. The application is dead until you renew.
Shame on Symantec! There are other quality security suites available, so they will never see my money again.
I'll give it two stars because I was satisfied until I found out that there is absolutely NO protection without a renewed subscription.

To start off, I will never understand why this is so much cheeper here than on Norton's website. But, that's ok. It's cheeper. We won't argue.
Secondly, OMG... Norton totally saved my computer. On more than one occasion! When it's slow, it fixes it! When I get a virus, it smacks it down! When there's tracking cookies, it eats them for breakfast! This thing is fantastic! Grant it, yes, like any other programme on my computer- we have our dissagrements. But that's to be expected. However, this thing is just... WOW! I couldn't live without it. O__o
Seriously. My laptop would be dead. From viruses. Achoo.

A great improvement over what I had been using March 8, 2010

I've been using other software (AVG, Trend Micro others). I found the interface great and it works in the background without any need of attention from me. Only annoyance is the limited on-line back up they provide plus the constant nag button trying to sell me more Norton back up which is very expensive. It is cheaper to buy a stand alone external drive than to route you data to norton. Other than that, I like it, I don't have to manually update it and it protects my PC well.
