Buy this book... now April 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Cynthia Kaplan is funny. But that's almost besides the point. She's reflective and thoughtful. While you're laughing, in your mind's eye you can picture exactly what she's describing... and why... and how it applies to you and your life. Wise readers would buy everything that she writes. And read it many times.
Fabulous second book! February 25, 2008 It is hard to follow-up such a funny and insightful first book of essays with another equally as captivating, but Cynthia Kaplan has done it. Leave the Building Quickly is wonderful!
Read this Book! February 21, 2008 Read this book! It is serious and funny and smart. If nothing else, the chapter on auditioning for the Daily Show is worth the price of admission.

Cindy Kaplan has the rare ability to mix comedy and poigancy into every essay--if not every sentence. You're either smiling, laughing, guffawing, or ahhing at her tales. Her crisp, tight writing makes for a quick read--no fat at all. She has the ability to turn seemingly mundane tales of everyday experiences into life stories that all can relate to. Cindy's willingness to explore and reveal her inner self gives the book an authenticity rarely seen today. Read it today!!
So good, I have to read parts of it aloud to my husband June 28, 2007 Cynthia Kaplan's books are the kind of books that make me laugh out loud, until my husband says, "what's so funny?" and I have to read the passage again, this time for him.
I choked on a bagel once while reading one of Kaplan's essays.
They are THAT funny.
I read Why I'm Like This: True Stories (P.S.) in one sitting because I couldn't stop laughing and wouldn't put it down. LEAVE THE BUILDING QUICKLY has proven to be just as entertaining.
